![]() ![]() Is there any difference between these two drivers? As far as I read from the site you gave me, the Application UART is limitted to the 9600 baud.ġ.) the USB drivers for the launpad were installed with your IAR or CCS installation (whichever you're using). So the firmware inside the EEPROM is also the driver? (cause I do not need to install any driver, it automatically detected). When I connect the TUSB and the EEPROM, the PC will load the firmware from the EEPROM and appears as "MSP430 Application UART". And if there is no driver on the PC, it failed to detect. One question, if I disconnected the TUSB and the EEPROM, the PC will uses the default VIP/PIC inside the TUSB and get the appropiate driver (TUSB3410 boot device driver - which unfortunately has compaible issues with WIN 7) from the PC. I though it supports Win7, or my OS meets the "formatting" time and downgrade to WIN XP, lol :)). I suppose that I can treat this "Application UART" as a COM port, right? It just a serial to USB, am I right? Or I have to do something else?īy the way, I successed installing the VCP driver to WIN XP system. But in the MATLAB software, it can not open the port to communicate (which worked with other systems). I did not change anything, from the default configuration like what you said. P/S: Let me know if I post at the wrong place :D. I did not change anything at hardware side, just reprogrammed the F1612. So this system now is between MSP430F1612 -> TUSB3410 ->PC. So do I really need to install the VCP driver or I just do not know how to open that COM3? My softwares from MATLAB worked for different systems (just some basic COM communication).Īnd what is the differences bewteen "MSP430 Application UART" and the one that provided by VCP driver?įYI: I reprogrammed the F1612 in the emulation side so it can provide the CLK for TUSB and do a basic UASRT. Both of my software from MATLAB and VB can not open the port. I want to manipulate that COM3, however, I can not open the Port through MATLAB (and also through Visual Basic programs for serial communication). When I connected the Launchpad to PC, I saw the "MSP430 Application UART" in the Device Manager, and it is assgined as COM3. So, I am trying to ask here if some one also faced my problems. ![]() Cause I saw someone posted to ask about the Launchpad Application UART. So I thought this should be the right place to ask. And would like to use the emulation side (the USB) of it to do some data transfering. Oh, I forgot to tell you that I am using the MSP430 Launchpad. ![]()
